The 2022 NCAA Championships kick off on Thursday, March 10 at 9 a.m. MT with giant slalom racing at Park City Mountain Resort (rescheduled from Wednesday because of slope conditions). Slalom action is scheduled for Friday, March 11 at 9 a.m. back at Park City. Utah will be represented in the alpine races by
Sona Moravcikova,
Kaja Norbye and
Katie Parker on the women's side, with
Joachim Lien,
Wilhelm Normannseth and

"The excitement is through the roof with what we've been doing," said head alpine coach
JJ Johnson. "Our team is ready and they know this hill very well. We've been working on how to manage their energy. They know what's coming at them, they know where to give a little space and where to take risks [on the course]. You can't take risks the entire way down this hill. That familiarity is in the back of our heads and gives a little bit of a comfort level."
Nordic races are scheduled for Soldier Hollow on Thursday, March 10 (5/10K classic – 10 a.m. MT) and Saturday, March 12 (15/20K freestyle - 9:30 a.m. MT). It'll include
Sophia Laukli,
Novie McCabe and
Sydney Palmer-Leger for the Utes on the women's side, with
Samuel Hendry,
Luke Jager and
Bjørn Riksaasen rounding out the Nordic men's lineup.
"We're really excited about the week," said head Nordic coach
Miles Havlick. "You never know what can happen at the NCAA Championships, but our team is looking healthy and strong with a lot of momentum coming off of regional championships. We're looking to carry that into nationals. It's incredible to host on our home courses that we know very well."
Parking and admission are FREE for all four days of the championship meet.

The Utes qualified the maximum 12 skiers for the title meet, one of five programs nationally to accomplish this feat. Eleven of the Utes slated to compete this week have raced on the NCAA Championships stage before—more than any other team in the country.
