SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah track & field team had a great day on the track while honoring its eight seniors in front of the Ute faithful on Saturday at the McCarthey Family Track & Field Complex.

The 400m hurdles crew kicked off things off for Utah in its lone home meet with
Bailey Kealamakia the first to cross the finish line with a PR mark of 1:01.51 (aa) followed by
Ruby Jane Mathewson at 1:01.90 (aa) and
Rachel Whipple at 1:02.13 (aa). Meanwhile,
Ally Gomm made her first appearance since returning from her mission and finished at 1:05.21 (aa).

Over in the triple jump,
Delaney Gates posted a new PR after leaping a distance of 10.61m (34-9.75) on her sixth and final attempt.

It was an all Utah podium finish in the 800m run led by
Josefine Eriksen's PR mark of 2:05.56 (aa), which broke the facility record and good for fourth all-time at Utah.
Simone Plourde took second with a time of 2:06.39 (aa), which would've broken the McCarthy Family Track & Field Complex had Eriksen not finish ahead of her.Â

Brooke Manson, who saw her facility record bested by Eriksen, ran a 2:09.08 (aa) while
Sophie Ryan edged out her previous PR with a new mark of 2:09.89 (aa). The large contingent of Utes competing in the 800m continued with
Emma Earl crossing at 2:14.93 (aa) followed by
Natalie Platil at 2:22.91 (aa).
Maren Busath just barely ran a new PR for herself, checking in at 2:24.32 (aa) to pass her previous mark of 2:24.37 (aa) that she ran last weekend.
Kennedy Powell rounded things out for the Utes recording a mark of 2:28.96 (aa).

Skyler Blair's comeback tour continued as she picked up her second event victory of the outdoor season thanks to a PR time of 24.78 (aa) to capture the 200m dash and move into eighth all-time at Utah.
Taylor Watson was the next Ute to cross the finish line at 25.75 (aa) while freshman
Megan Rose collected a new PR in the 200m behind a sprint of 26.05 (aa).

Before the start of the 4x400m relay, the Utes honored its eight seniors with Phil and Tom McCarthey on hand to celebrate the special day with the seniors.

The 4x400m relay closed out the eventful day for Utah on its home track with the "A" team of
Kelise Davis,
Oneillia Fuller,
Lauren O'Banion and
Brooklyn James crossing at 3:45.78 to capture the win. Meanwhile, Utah's "C" team consisting of Earl, Plourde, Manson and Ryan took second (3:50.79 aa) followed by Utah's "B" group of posted a mark of 3:53.27 (aa).

The Utes will have a busy week ahead as it heads to Southern California for the Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitation (April 14-15).
