SALT LAKE CITY – Head Nordic coach
Miles Havlick announced that the Utah ski team will welcome Tom Mancini this season, concluding the team's incoming class. The trio of Utah newcomers also includes alpine skier Raphael Lessard and fellow Nordic skier Celine Mayer.
Mancini has competed with CSN Revard before coming to the U.
"Tom brings a substantial amount of international racing experience to our program," Havlick said. "His success over the last several years at the Junior, U23 and World Cup level will provide an immediate impact throughout our program. We are excited to get fall training underway and see this team in action."
Hailing from Aix-les-Bains, France, Mancini raced in 10 FIS World Cup events over the last four seasons. He turned his focus to cross-country skiing from biathlon in 2018; that year, he captured the FIS Junior World Championship in freestyle sprints. In 2019 during his inaugural World Cup, he placed eighth in the freestyle sprints in Cogne, Italy.
He won his first Continental Cup last season, a year highlighted by a third-place finish at the renowned Engadin Skimarathon in Switzerland.
"Utah is the best college ski program out there," said Mancini. "I like the atmosphere and the location, and really want to win with this team."
A complete rundown of Mancini's racing history is

Utah won its third straight NCAA Championship in 2022, as well as the program's fourth in the last five completed championship meets, all led by director of skiing
Fredrik Landstedt. All-time, the Utes have won 15 national titles and 14 NCAA crowns.
