LOS ANGELES – The Utah men's basketball team remains in the City of Angels as it heads east on I-10 to take on the Trojans of USC on Saturday, Jan. 14, for an 8:30 p.m. (MT) tip inside the Galen Center.
Ted Robinson will once again have the call while Don MacLean serves as the analyst in the 51st meeting all-time between Utah and USC as the Runnin' Utes look to snap a three-game skid against the Trojans.
CITY OF ANGELS SWING
Heading into the second leg of the Los Angeles swing, Utah will get an opportunity to salvage the trip and split the weekend when it takes on the Trojans on Saturday. Since joining the league, Utah has split the LA trip twice (2013-14, 2014-15) – both wins those seasons came against USC.
LAST TIME OUT
The Runnin' Utes had some trouble against No. 7/6 UCLA Thursday night inside Pauley Pavilion without big man
Branden Carlson, giving up 21 second-change points to the Bruins while turning the ball over 16 times.
Rollie Worster led the Utes in the scoring column with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting and 3-of-3 from the charity stripe with a pair of steals. The nine steals for Utah is tied for the season – which previously came against BYU on the road.
UP NEXT
The Utes return home for a pair of games next week, starting with Washington State on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m. (MT) with Drew Goodman and former Arizona standout Matt Muehlebach on the call. Utah then welcomes back former Runnin' Utes on Saturday, Jan. 21, against Washington for its alumni game – which will also serve as a RED OUT with JB Long and Don MacLean guiding fans through the action. Both games are slated to air on Pac-12 Networks.
LOOKING AHEAD
Utah will hit the road the following week as it heads to the PNW for a pair of games against the Oregon school. The Utes first take on the Beavers of Oregon State on Thursday, Jan. 26, for a 9 p.m. (MT) tip-off before facing the Ducks of Oregon on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m.
