LAST TIME OUT
Utah took care of business last weekend and completed the sweep of the Bay Area teams after fending off a fury of baskets from Stanford in the final 10 minutes of the game – including a run of seven-straight baskets for the Cardinal. However, the Runnin' Utes showed poised and knocked down 13-of-14 from the charity stripe in the final 4:06 of the game to secure the 71-66 victory on The Farm.
Lazar Stefanovic tied his career-high with 20 points on 6-of-7 shooting that game – including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc.
Branden Carlson joined the 1000 points club after scoring 18 points with four rebounds while
Marco Anthony and
Gabe Madsen each chipped in with 10 points apiece.
UP NEXT
The Runnin' Utes will host the Ducks of Oregon on Saturday, Jan. 7, for its Dark Mode game. Tip-off between Utah and Oregon is set for 5 p.m. (MT) on Pac-12 Networks with Roxy Bernstein and Don MacLean on the call. The Utes look to grab their first win at home against Oregon since 2013 – which is its lone victory over the Ducks at home and just 1-of-2 victories over Oregon since joining the Pac-12.
LOOKING AHEAD
After hosting the Oregon teams at home, the Runnin' Utes hit the road for a pair of games against the LA schools. Utah first takes on #10/8 UCLA on Thursday, Jan. 12, inside Pauley Pavilion before facing the Trojans of USC on Saturday, Jan. 14, inside the Galen Center.
