On injuries coming off of the Oregon State game…
"We had a bunch of guys banged up (at Oregon State). We'll see who we get back. The bye week is hopefully going to help us get some of those guys back. But it's too early to tell right now; we'll have to wait until at least the end of this week, probably the beginning of next week."

Aside from healing up, what do you want to accomplish over the bye week?
"Get back in sync on offense. The last two games, we haven't been nearly productive enough. We've got to get that fixed. That's job No. 1 during the bye.

"(It starts with) coaching. We've got to coach better. We've got to put our guys in better positions to succeed. We've got to have better execution. It's across the board; there really isn't any one thing…I wish it was one thing. We've got to get it figured out in a short period of time."

On how the team is doing in the bye week…
"The team is in good spirits. Obviously disappointed with the loss. There were tough meetings yesterday that we had. But we put that game to bed. It's time to move on. It's all about Cal going forward."

On high school level talent picking up in the State of Utah…
"(It's picking up) tremendously. We've got a really good start on that talent. We're not finished yet, but right now we feel really good about how we're doing in the state of Utah. It's important to do well in the state of Utah. That's our No. 1 objective in recruiting, is to make sure that we don't miss anybody in the state, that we do our evaluations and make sure we don't overlook (anyone)."

How do high school players in Utah compare to elsewhere in the country?
"I think they compare very favorably, otherwise we wouldn't be recruiting them, if they weren't really good players who could help us."
