SALT LAKE CITY -- The 16th-ranked Utah Utes return to play after a bye week Saturday, and return to Rice-Eccles Stadium for the first time in three weeks, hosting California in a 1 p.m. kickoff. The game will be televised by the Pac-12 Network. Fans can find a complete game preview
here.
Saturday's game marks the annual celebration of the special relationship that the University of Utah and its athletics programs have shared with the Ute Indian Tribe since 1972, with the
Ute Proud game. Utah Athletics will honor several groups in recognition of the university's Ute Proud tradition, in the same week that Indigenous Peoples Day is recognized in the United States.
Among the celebrations and recognitions planned for the Ute Proud game:
- The Ute Tribe Business Committee
- American Indian Resource Center at the University of Utah
- Halftime performance by the Ute Tribe
Utah Athletics, in conjunction with the Bennion Center for Community Engagement will also honor the annual recipient of the Utah Athletes in Service Award. This award is given out each year to a Utah Athletics student-athlete who strengthens the community through volunteering, learning and leadership.
In addition, the Utah baseball program will begin sales of its 2024 season ticket hat. Buy season tickets and receive the one-of-a-kind cap between 10 a.m.-noon in the Guardsman Lot, and from noon until halftime at Gate L.
Make your plans to get to campus as early as possible to enjoy pregame entertainment, including a performance by the "Pride of Utah," the University of Utah Marching Band, before the team's run-out onto the field showered by the roar of the crowd—Utah's anticipated 80
th consecutive sellout, dating back to 2010. This also helps to ease last-minute congestion at the gates, so be in your seats early.
THE ARRIVAL
Gather outside Gate L on 500 South by 10:45 a.m. to greet your Utes as they step off the bus.
The Arrival is a new gameday experience that makes Utes fans the official welcome party for the team each home game. Enjoy food, live music and exclusive t-shirts for each of Utah's seven home games that will only be available when the team arrives at Rice-Eccles Stadium prior to the games.
