KNOXVILLE, Tenn. –
Holly Waxman competed in her second event in two days at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn., and she placed 42nd in the women's 3m.
"Even though today didn't go as we had hoped, I am still so proud of Holly and her performance," said diving coach
Richard Marschner. "All you can ask of someone as a coach is for them to work hard, prepare and compete as best as they can and Holly has always exceeded my expectations in each of those aspects."
This makes back-to-back years in which Waxman has competed on the 3m at nationals and in this year's event, she collected 239.25 points to place 42nd.
Waxman, who achieved All-American status in the 1m on Thursday will have another chance to compete on Saturday, when she and
Kathryn Grant will be diving from the platform.
"Holly has a great opportunity to prove her resilience tomorrow and come back strongly on tower with Kathryn by her side competing with her," said Marschner. "Regardless of tomorrow's result, I know they're both going to give it everything they've got and our season is going to end on an extremely high note. I couldn't ask for anything more from these two."
