AZUSA/WALNUT, Calif. – The Utah track & field team had a perfect end to its weekend in Southern California with the 4x400m relay team blazing past its competition to break the school record once again on Saturday inside Hilmer Lodge Stadium at the Mt. SAC Relays.
Â
Dee Denis got the Utes going on the final day of competition in the elite section of the 400m hurdles at the Mt. SAC Relays. Dennis ran with some of the country's hurdles, finishing with a time of 58.06 – good for third in her heat and eighth-overall. However, she was the fourth-fastest collegian running in the event with the top two finishers being pros along with the No. 6 and No. 7 finisher.
Â
The 4x400m relay squad of Denis,
Ally Gomm,
Emily Martin and
Josefine Eriksen put the petal to the medal on Saturday to close the day at Hilmer Lodge Stadium for Utah by winning their heat with another school record run of 3:35.76.
Â
Over at the Cougar Athletic Stadium in the Bryan Clay Invitational,
Claire Rusovick took third in her heat of the 1500m race after posting a time of 4:39.51. Later on, in the invitational section of the 1500m,
Erin Vringer went stride for stride with Arkansas' Katie McCune and registered a finishing mark of 4:18.54 for second in her heat. Not only was her time good for a new PR, it also put her fourth on the all-rime list at Utah. In addition, her time was also the second-fastest time by a Canadian this season in the 1500m event behind
Simone Plourde.Â
