PROVO, Utah –
Emily Martin and
Emily Venters led the charge on Friday for the Utah track & field team with both runners moving up the Utah all-time record list in their respective events.

In the 400m race at the Robison Invitational on the campus of BYU, Martin laced it up with the fastest group of the evening. Her run of 55.08 (aa) was good for fourth-overall in her heat and overall while moving up one spot in the Utah all-time list to No. 6.

Meanwhile,
Erin Palmer had the second-fastest time in her heat after crossing the finish line at 58.41 (aa). Running in the same heat as Palmer,
Millie Wilcox posted a mark of 59.32 (aa) to take fourth while
Chloe Shewell was right behind her at 1:00.78 (aa).

Over in the 400m hurdles,
Ally Gomm took fourth-overall in the event after finishing at 1:01.85 (aa) against the top runners of the day.

In the horizontal jumps,
Shana Van Elderen took third after posting a jump of 5.81m (19-0.75) in her final attempt – her second best jump this season.

Out on the Farm at the Payton Jordan Invitational, Venters went out and ran the fastest time amongst collegian competitors at the meet in the 5000m with a time of 15:26.30 and took sixth-overall against a host of elite professional runners. That time saw the Lawrence, Kan., product move up to No. 2 on the all-time list at Utah behind teammate
Simone Plourde (15:21.19) – who broke the program record just last week at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Additionally, her time is also the third-fastest mark in the NCAA this season against times heading into this weekend.

The Utes will close out their weekend this Saturday, April 22, at the Robison Invitational and spend a brief stint back in SLC before heading to the renowned Drake Relays early next week.
