THREE THINGS TO KNOW
• After being picked to win the ASUN in the preseason poll, the Utes have claimed their second straight regular season ASUN title after going 9-0 in conference play.
• Utah leads the ASUN in assists (9.29), ground balls (38.07) and points (26.36) per game.
• Utah is ranked second in the country in scoring offense, averaging 17.07 goals per game.
POSTSEASON PLAY
After playing in its first ASUN Championship in 2022, Utah is 1-1 in postseason play after beating Bellarmine in the semifinals, but falling to Robert Morris in overtime (18-17) in the championship game.
LAST TIME OUT
The No. 19 Utes went undefeated in conference play with its 18-6 victory on the road against Queens University. Utah's 10 wins is the most in program history during regular season.
• Utah held Queens to just six goals, the second-fewest goals allowed in program history.
• Utah had 11 different players score with five scoring two-or-more goals, led by
Jared Andreala and
Carson Moyer, who both finished with hat tricks.

Tyler Kloeckl led the Utes in ground balls with six, also winning a career-high eight faceoffs.

UNDEFEATED IN ASUN PLAY
Out of the 72 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse programs, Utah is one of just five schools that finished conference play undefeated (Vermont, 7-0 in America East; Saint Joseph's, 5-0 in Atlantic 10; Georgetown, 5-0 in Big East; Saint Joseph's, 7-0 in NEC).
• Utah finished 9-0 in ASUN play in 2023 after going 5-0 in its first season in the league in 2022, making the Utes 14-0 all-time in regular season conference games.
• Utah's nine-straight victories in 2023 is the longest streak in school history after winning seven in a row in 2022.
SCORING FRENZY
Through non-conference play, Utah was only averaging 11.4 goals and 18.8 points per game. In ASUN play, the Utes have been averaging 20.2 goals and 30.1 points – leading the conference in both.
• Through all 14 games this season, Utah ranks second nationally and first in the ASUN in assists per game (9.29), second in the country and first in the league in points per game (26.36) and is second nationally and first in the ASUN in scoring offense (17.07).
• Utah's +4.86 scoring margin this season is fourth in the country and first in the ASUN.
• Utah has scored 18-or-more goals in eight straight games and in nine total this season.
• The Utes are the only team in the country that has scored 20+ goals in four games this season (24 at Detroit Mercy, 26 at Robert Morris, 22 vs. Lindenwood, 22 vs. Mercer).

Utah's offense and defense has propelled the program to high ranks this season across multiple statistical categories, sitting in the top-three in the ASUN in 11, including leading the league in seven.
• Utah leads the ASUN in assists per game (9.29), clearing percentage (.907), ground balls per game (38.07), points per game (26.36), scoring margin (+4.86), scoring offense (17.07) and turnovers per game (14.07).
• The Utes also rank second in the league in saves per game (12.93) and win percentage (.714), and is third in caused turnovers per game (8.29) and face-off win percentage (.531).
• Utah's 26 goals against Robert Morris is the most goals in a game by an ASUN team this season, also ranking as the third-most in the nation.
• Utah won 31 faceoffs against Robert Morris, which is the most in the ASUN and second-most in the country.

GROUND BALL SUCCESS
Utah is averaging 38.07 ground balls per game this season, including averaging 42.7 during ASUN play to lead the league.
• Utah is 10-1 this season when they record 30+ ground balls in a game and 16-2 in the
Andrew McMinn era.
• Utah has had 40+ ground balls in seven of the last 10 games and 11 times in the program's history.
• The Utes have had 30-or-more ground balls in 10 straight games, the longest streak in school history.
• Utah's 54 ground balls against Detroit Mercy (3/25) is a season-high, ranking second all-time at Utah, and is the second-most in the ASUN this season.
• Utah is the only team in the country that has three-or-more games with 50+ ground balls this season.
RECORD BREAKERS
Since the
Andrew McMinn era began in 2022, the Utes have broken a total of 66 school records in just 28 games.
• Utah's broken records in the last two seasons include 19 single-game (11 team, eight individual), 31 single-season (18 team, 13 individual), eight career and eight miscellaneous records.
• This year, Utah has broken the single-game record for goals and points twice, scoring 26 goals and 38 points against Robert Morris just one week after putting in 24 goals and 36 points at Detroit Mercy.
• Utah's 31 faceoff wins against Robert Morris also set a new program record right after breaking it at Detroit Mercy with 27.

Jordan Hyde set a new school record in single-game goals (8) against Mercer, breaking the record that was set by
Josh Stout against Mercer in 2019 (7). He also became the all-time leader in single-season goals (45 in 2023) and career goals (105).
• Also on the individual side, freshman goalkeeper
Colin Lenskold set a new record for single-game saves vs. Vermont (20) while
Cole Brams broke his own single-game faceoff wins record twice this year (27 at Robert Morris, 26 at Detroit Mercy).
• With one regular season game remaining, Utah has set new records in single-season points (369), goals (239), ground balls (533), faceoffs won (241) and caused turnovers (116).
WHEN HYDE SHOOTS, HE SCORES
Junior attackman
Jordan Hyde has been tough to keep out of the back of the net this season, leading the Utes in goals (45) and points (53) while breaking the single-game, single-season and career records for goals this year.
• His 105 career goals, 45 goals in 2023 and eight goals against Mercer this season all set new records at Utah.
• He ranks 12th nationally and first in the ASUN in goals per game (3.21), also ranking sixth in the country and first in the league in shot percentage (.484).
• His 45 goals this season is the second-most in the ASUN and ranks in the top-10 nationally.
• Hyde has scored 35 of his 45 goals in conference play, averaging 3.88 per game.
• He has scored five-or-more goals in five of the last eight games, including the school record eight against Mercer.
• He has 26 career games with at least two goals.
• Hyde has scored in 20 straight games, dating back to Utah's game at Cleveland State on April 9, 2022. It is the second-longest streak by an active player in the ASUN.
• He is one of just three players in the ASUN with over 100 career goals.
BRADBURY BRINGS IT ALL
Junior attackman
Tyler Bradbury continues to prove to be one of the most versatile players in the ASUN and the country, leading the team with 20 assists while also putting up 28 goals for 48 points.
• Through 43 career games as a Ute, he sits atop the record book in single-season points (62, 2022) and assists (33, 2022), and career points (149) and assists (78).
• He has scored at least one point in 30 straight games, dating back to the 2021 season, and has scored a point in 37 of his 43 career games.
• Bradbury also ranks third all-time at Utah in career goals (71), needing four more to move into second behind
Jordan Hyde.
• He ranks in the top-10 in the ASUN in assists per game (5th, 1.43) and points per game (7th, 3.43).
• He has 26 career games with multiple assists, including in seven this season with his season-high of four coming vs. Marquette.
• He has 23 career games with two-or-more goals, including in nine in 2023 with his season-high four coming at Detroit Mercy and against Cleveland State.
• Bradbury has scored 20 of his 28 goals in conference play, averaging 2.22 per game.
STICKY STICK
Senior faceoff specialist
Cole Brams is known for finding ways to get the ball, whether that is through ground balls or faceoff wins. This season, he leads the Utes in ground balls (103) and faceoff wins (211), recording a 56.4% win average on faceoffs.
• Through 45 games as a Ute, Brams holds the school record for career ground balls (321), faceoff wins (618), faceoff attempts (1141), faceoff win percentage (.542), and ranks in the top-10 in caused turnovers (12).
• He is one of just 12 active players nationally that has over 600 faceoff wins (618), which ranks third among active players in the ASUN.
• His 321 career ground balls is the third-most by an active player in the ASUN and ranks 13th overall among active players in the country.
• Brams has 103 ground balls through 14 games this season, becoming the first Ute in program history to have back-to-back years with 100+ ground balls. He needs nine more to break his own record of 111 single-season ground balls, which he set in 2022.
• In single-game records, Brams holds every spot in the top-10 in both ground balls and faceoffs won.
• This season, Brams ranks 19th nationally and second in the ASUN in ground balls per game (7.36), also ranking 21st nationally and second in the league in faceoff win percentage (.564).
• Brams' has broken his own school record for single-game faceoff wins twice this season, recording 26 at Detroit Mercy and 27 at Robert Morris.
• His 27 faceoff wins against the Colonials is the third-most by a player in the country and is the only player in the nation that has two games with over 25 faceoff wins this season.
• His season-high 15 ground balls against Detroit Mercy (3/25) and Robert Morris (4/8) is the second-most by a player in the ASUN, also second all-time at Utah.
• He has averaged 8.56 ground balls per game during conference play, reaching double-digits three times during that nine-game span.
CAMBERE CAUSES CHAOS
Senior defenseman
Samuel Cambere has been known to cause problems for opposing offenses, holding the school records for single-game (5 vs. Bellarmine, 5/5/22), single-season (28 in 2022) and career (91) caused turnovers, also ranking second in career ground balls (235).
• Cambere has recorded at least one ground ball in all 60 games he has appeared in as a Ute.
• He has 27 career games with two-or-more CTOs in a game, including tying his season-high with three in three games this year (vs. Marquette, at Robert Morris, vs. Mercer).
• He ranks seventh in the ASUN in caused turnovers per game this season, averaging 1.36 through 14 games.
• Cambere has had two-or-more caused turnovers in five of the last six games, averaging 2.3 per game during that span.
• He has recorded at least one CTO in 44 of his 60 games.
• He has also posted four-or-more ground balls in 31 career games.
STINES CLIMBS THE CHARTS
Redshirt freshman
Ryan Stines has scored 33 goals in 14 games this season, ranking second on the team, starting all 14 games as well as the 2023 ASUN Freshman of the Year.
• He set a new freshman record at Utah with his 33 goals, passing
Jordan Hyde's 20 goals in 2021.
• He has scored at least one goal in 13 of Utah's 14 games this year, including two-or-more in 10.
• His 2.36 goals per game leads all freshmen in the ASUN (7th Overall) and is sixth in the country among freshmen. His 33 goals is also the fourth-most in the country by a freshman this season.
• He also ranks eighth in the country (first in the ASUN) among freshmen and sixth overall in the ASUN in shot percentage (.375).
• Stines scored a career-high five goals in Utah's win over Jacksonville.
• He also scored a career-high eight points vs. Mercer on four goals and a career-best four assists with the eight points ranking third all-time at Utah.
MCMAKIN IT HAPPEN
Junior attackman
MJ McMahon has been a consistent threat on offense for the Utes since he stepped foot on campus in 2020, recording 78 points on 48 goals and 30 assists.
• Through 45 career games, McMahon ranks fourth all-time in career points (78), also ranking fourth in goals (48) and has moved into fourth in assists (30).
• This season, he has 29 points on 12 goals and 17 assists.
• He has recorded nine of his 17 assists in the last five games, including his career-high tying four against Lindenwood.
• He has scored two-or-more points in eight of Utah's 14 games this season, including his season-high five points in Utah's win at Robert Morris (3 goals, 2 assists).
• Prior to Utah's season opener against Denver (2/4/23), he had scored at least a point in 19 straight games (at Mercer, 4/27/21 – vs. Robert Morris, 5/7/22).
• He has scored at least a point in 36 of the 45 games he has appeared in.
POWERED THROUGH THE MIDFIELD
Through 14 games this season, Utah's three starting midfielders have combined for 64 of Utah's 239 goals (27%).
• Junior
Jared Andreala has started all 14 games, ranking fourth on the team in goals (24).
• Andreala has scored a career-high four goals three times this season (vs. Marquette, vs. Jacksonville, vs. Cleveland State). He has six games this season with two-or-more goals, including in five of the last six games.
• Andreala has averaged 2.7 goals per game in the last six games.
•
Koa Todd ranks fourth on the team in total points this season (30), recording 23 goals and seven assists.
• Todd has seven games this year with two-or-more goals, including his career-high five goals and seven points against Robert Morris.
•
Carson Moyer has 17 goals and six assists this season. After only scoring two of his 17 goals in non-conference play, he has gone on to average 1.7 goals per game (15 goals in ASUN play).
YOUTH MOVEMENT ON D
Through 14 games this season, Utah has seen three underclassmen become impact players on the defensive side of the ball with defenders
Nikko DiPonio and
Colby Plotts, and goalkeeper
Colin Lenskold all taking on large roles in the program.
• DiPonio, a true freshman, has started in all 14 games this season, recording 30 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.
• Lenskold, also a true freshman, has played and started in 13 games, racking up 146 saves (.485 save percentage), 21 ground balls and a caused turnover.
• Plotts, a sophomore on the team, has 30 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers through 14 games this season, also scoring 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists.
• Plotts' 11 assists this season is the most by a defensive player in the country.
• DiPonio's 13 caused turnovers ranks fifth among freshmen nationally, also ranking second among freshmen in the league.
THE CAPTAINS
Prior to the 2023 season, Utah selected its three captains for the season in
Josh Rose,
Samuel Cambere and
Tyler Bradbury. Cambere and Bradbury were also captains in 2022 with Cambere also serving as a captain in 2021.
• Bradbury and Cambere earned 2022 ASUN Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors during Utah's first year in the league.
• The trio has combined for 139 career games and 82 starts.
YEAR 5
The Utes are in their fifth year as a Division I program after making the transition from a club team in 2019. Utah is 32-28 all-time as a Division I team with 10 of those wins coming last season under the direction of head coach
Andrew McMinn.
• Utah won the ASUN regular season title in 2022 after its first year in the league, repeating as regular season champs in 2023.
• McMinn has a career record of 96-73 and a record of 20-8 at Utah. His 20 wins is the most by a head coach for Utah Lacrosse.
• McMinn led the Utes in 2022 to 42 school records while finishing the season ranked first in the ASUN in six different categories.
SENIORS
Utah entered the 2023 season with eight seniors on the roster, including
Branden Wilson,
Samuel Cambere,
Cole Brams,
Zack Johns,
Ruben Santana,
Zach Chandler and
Dominic Mata. Wilson, Santana and Cambere have played in the most games on the team with Wilson seeing action in 54, Santana appearing in 56 and Cambere playing in 60.
