Briton Allen Named to Comeback Player of the Year Watch List

Allen is one of 100 players nationally in consideration for the award
NEW YORK – University of Utah junior safety Briton Allen was named to the Watch List for the 2023 Comeback Player of the Year Award on Tuesday. Presented annually since 2018, the honor recognizes college football student-athletes for overcoming injury, illness or other circumstances.
One of 100 players nationally up for the award, Allen transferred to Utah after spending the 2019-22 seasons at USC. He saw game action in 14 contests while with the Trojans, but missed the 2021 and '22 seasons after suffering an injury during Fall camp in 2021.
He appeared in four games during the pandemic-altered 2020 season, and contributed five tackles as a true freshman in 2019, when Allen earned time in 10 games.
The Orlando native starred both at safety and wide receiver while in high school, finishing his scholastic career at IMG Academy. He earned All-State and PrepState All-Southeast Region laurels while in high school.
