- ASU won the coin toss and deferred. Utah defended the South goal to begin the game.
- Returning from injury, quarterback Cameron Rising made his third start of the season and first since the Baylor game on Sept. 7.
- Micah Bernard crossed the 100-yard rushing mark during the third quarter on a drive that ended with a six-yard touchdown for Bernard. It is his fourth 100-yard game of the season and sixth of his career.
- Bernard is the first Ute to have four 100-yard rushing games in a season since 2021 (TJ Pledger and Tavion Thomas). He is the first Ute to have three straight 100-yard rushing games on the road since Zack Moss in 2019.
- The Utes added to their streak of having a 100-yard rusher or 100-yard receiver in every game in 2024  (Dijon Stanley vs. SUU, 150 rec. yds; Micah Bernard vs. Baylor, 118 rush yds; Micah Bernard at Utah State, 123 rush yds; Micah Bernard at Oklahoma State, 182 rush yds; Dorian Singer vs. Arizona, 155 rec. yds, Micah Bernard vs. Arizona State, 129 rush yds).Â
- The 7 minute, 5 second scoring drive on Bernard's third-quarter touchdown was the longest TOP for a Utah scoring drive this season.
- Bernard's 61 receiving yards were a new career-high and his five receptions matches his most in a game, the fourth time he's reached that total.
Defense
- Defensive tackle Dallas Vakalahi earned his first collegiate start.
- Fellow defensive tackle Junior Tafuna made an interception on ASU's third offensive play of the game--his second pick as a Ute and first since the Southern Utah game on Sept. 10, 2022. It was the first interception by a Utah defensive lineman since that SUU game as well.
- Linebacker Johnathan Hall had a solo sack during the first quarter; it was Hall's first since the 2023 Las Vegas Bowl when he played safety.
- Safety Rabbit Evans set a new career-high with nine total tackles.
- Lander Barton's nine total tackles matched his career-high, which he previously set on Oct. 21, 2023 vs. USC.
- Logan Fano's seven stops represented a new career-best.
- Vakalahi set a career-high with four total tackles.
Special Teams
- Kicker Cole Becker connected on a season-long 48-yard field goal to cap off Utah's opening drive of the game.
- Becker added a 40-yarder later in the first quarter, giving him three games in the last four with multiple field goals made. It it his second game this season (at Oklahoma State) where Becker made multiple field goals of 40-plus yards.
- Becker is the first Utah kicker since Matt Gay in 2018 to have multiple games with more than one successful 40-yard field goal try.
- Becker tied his career-high with 13 points, matching his total from Utah's 2023 matchup with Arizona State.
- Becker is the first Utah kicker to connect on four field goals in one game since Matt Gay hit six against Oregon on Nov. 10, 2018.
