SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Ski Team and the rest of the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA) finalized the schedule for the 2025 season on Thursday. Five regular season meets line the slate for the Utes, including five race days on home snow, before the team heads to the RMISA Championships in Alaska and NCAA Championships in New Hampshire.

The regular season takes a bit of a different form this year, as four different meets will have started before the first one is completed. The spacing was done in part to allow RMISA student-athletes the opportunity to pursue competition on the World Cup circuit and other events outside the collegiate schedule.
Utah will ring in the new season soon after the calendar turns to 2025, opening the season with Nordic races at the Alaska Anchorage Invitational. The Utes will race in a 10K freestyle on Jan. 2 and follow that with a 20K classic on Jan. 5; both will take part at Kincaid Park as part of the U.S. National Championships.
Alpine teams will begin the season on Jan. 6 with a slalom qualifier at Loveland Ski Area. From there, teams will head straight into the alpine half of the Denver Invitational on Jan. 7-8.
The Utes will host the Utah Invitational on Jan. 18-19 (Nordic) at Soldier Hollow and Feb. 8-9 (alpine) at the Spencer F. Eccles Olympic Mountain Center at the Utah Olympic Park. An additional giant slalom race will be held at the Olympic Park on Feb. 7, but this will serve as an extra qualifier and is not part of the Utah Invitational.
Other meets on the regular season schedule include the Montana State Invitational (alpine Jan. 24 and 26; Nordic Feb. 3-4) and the Nordic-only Alaska Fairbanks Invitational (Feb. 16-17). After the Denver Invitational begins with alpine action in early January, Nordic teams will conclude that meet on Feb. 8-9.
Teams will return to Alaska for the 2025 RMISA Championships, which will again double as the NCAA West Regional. Races begin on Feb. 20 with giant slalom, followed up with a 7.5K classic on Feb. 21 and a slalom-20K freestyle doubleheader on Feb. 22.
The 2025 season is an East year for the NCAA Ski Championships and Dartmouth will serve as host, with the meet running from Wednesday through Saturday, March 5-8. The Dartmouth Skiway will be the site of alpine races and Nordic events will be held at Oak Hill Outdoor Center.
Utah is coming off of a 2024 season in which the team placed as the national runner-up, in the tightest-ever finish to an NCAA Championship. Utah totaled 13 All-American awards and two individual national champions in
Mikkel Solbakken (men's giant slalom) and
Sydney Palmer-Leger (women's 7.5K freestyle). Prior to that, Utah won four straight team national titles from 2019-23, becoming the first ski team in the combined-gender era of NCAA skiing to four-peat. All-time, the Utes own 16 team national championships and 86 individual titles.
