Senior Running Back Micah Bernard On the emotions going into his final game as a Ute…
"I just want to have fun…out on the field, running around, yelling, screaming, having fun. I'm not going to be (at Utah) anymore, so just trying to enjoy the moment with my boys and keep going."
On what this senior class has done…
"It's hard. I know I won two championships here, but it feels like with this year that I haven't won two championships. So it's kind of difficult thinking about it. But in the broader things, I did win two championships. Just last night, I put on my (championship) rings and I was looking at them. I was playing PlayStation with my rings on. I've had a good career and did a lot of good things, but did I do enough this year? That's all I think about."
Senior Offensive Lineman Jaren Kump On the team heading into this week…
"What we want to accomplish is ending off the season on a good note, and with some good feelings coming home on that plane ride. I think team morale today was actually better than you'd expect. I feel like we're headed in the right direction to achieve that goal."
Where have you grown and improved over the season?
"I feel confident about how I've done so far this season. I feel like last game was not my best performance. For me personally, my mentality this week is making up for that."
On getting the run game going this week…
"In about 10 minutes, we're actually about to watch (today's) practice film together as an offensive line. We're trying to be on the same page, and I think that's what it's going to come down to. Physically, we're all able to do it. We all know what we have to do. We just have to be on the same page, how the other guy thinks."
Senior Linebacker Karene Reid On how important it is to try and finish the season with a win…
It's super important. I think it even carries momentum going forward into spring ball. Ending on a good note is huge for the momentum moving forward.
On Lander Barton's pick-six and keeping the streak alive…
It's so good. I hope they keep rolling next year, too. I asked [Lander] today in practice how long it took him to recover from that 87-yard return and he said two or three series. Super happy for him. He deserves it. He deserves everything.
On how he's grown as a player and a person this season…
I hope I've grown in all areas. I think tackling has been a big strength for me. As a person, just all areas of my life. I owe a lot of my growth to this place.
Sophomore Defensive Back Smith Snowden On how he's improved throughout the season…
I would definitely say leadership. I feel like that's a role I wanted to play this year, just to encourage the team and continue to lead.
On how he's grown this season…
I feel like this season built us. There's a lot to learn from, so we can learn from it and keep growing.
On the team's goals against UCF…
Go there and win the game, but playing together is going to be a big factor in this week and offense contributing, defense contributing and obviously special teams. You guys saw last week it played a big part in that game.
