SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Ski Team and director of skiing
Fredrik Landstedt announced today that the team has signed Ally Wheeler to the Nordic roster for the 2026 season. A native of Casper, Wyoming, Wheeler will join the Utes after competing with Casper Nordic Club in her home state.
Wheeler has earned spots in races throughout the United States and around the world, most notably qualifying for the 2024 Junior World Championships in Planica, Slovenia. She made her Junior Worlds debut in the 20K freestyle, placing 24
th in the field of 68 athletes. Internationally, she was also selected to represent the United States in the Scando Cup, racing in Falun, Sweden.
The 2024 season additionally saw Wheeler compete at the U.S. Junior National Championships in Lake Placid, New York, making three starts. It included a pair of silver medals as she skied to the No. 2 podium spot in both the 10K freestyle and 7.5K classic races. The year also brought her to Utah and Soldier Hollow Nordic Center for senior nationals, placing as the third junior in a 10K freestyle race.
She had three top-10 results at junior nationals in 2023 and was selected for the Scando Cup that year as well.
