GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Utah's men's swim team started the Toyota U.S. Open with two relays, each moving up three places from their seeded slot, in the Greensboro Aquatic Center on Wednesday night.
In the short session to start the meet, the Utah men's team swam in the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard free relay.
200-yard Medley Relay
- The team was seeded in eighth, but finished the race in fifth, effectively moving up three positions.
- Their final time was 1:29.57.
- Parker McOmber swam the first leg, a 50-yard backstroke, and touched the wall at 22.75.
- Daniel Yi jumped in next for the 50-yard breaststroke, hitting 24.84.
- The third swimmer, Jackson Kehler, swam the 50-yard butterfly, coming in at 21.70.
- Marshall Odom finished the race for the Utes with a 20.28 in the 50-yard freestyle.
800-Free Relay
- Finishing the race in second, the Utes moved up three places from their seeded fifth-place position.
- Their final time was 6:30.99, dropping more than a minute off their seeded time.
- Strahinja Maslo started the relay with a 1:38.49 in the first 200-yard freestyle.
- Speeding through his leg, Jones Lambert swam a 1:36.33 in the second 200-free.
- Tomas Chocholaty touched the wall at 1:38.26 in the third 200-free stretch.
- Nailing their silver medal in place, Nolan Arnholt anchored the final 200-free with a 1:37.91 finish.

Utah continues through three more days of the U.S. Open, finishing the meet on Saturday, Dec. 7.
