Kuithe Headlines Utah Football's CFN Preseason Honors

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Football tight end Brant Kuithe has earned another preseason All-America nod, being named to the College Football Network honorable mention squad.
Kuithe has also been named CFN Preseason Big 12 Tight End of the Year with Junior Tafuna earning CFN Preseason Big 12 Defensive Lineman and Defensive Tackle of the Year. The duo landed on the CFN Preseason All-Big 12 first-team with Spencer Fano (OL) and Jack Bouwmeester (P) being named to the second team.
Linebacker Levani Damuni was named to the third-team with Michael Mokofisi (OL), Lander Barton (LB), Zemaiah Vaughn (CB) and Karene Reid (LB) all earning honorable mention.
Kuithe, a three-time All-Pac-12 tight end, will make his debut in the Big 12 this season with the rest of the Utes. The Katy, Texas, native will enter the season leading all active FBS tight ends in career receptions (148), receiving yards (1,882) and receiving touchdowns (16).
Tafuna is a three-time all-conference selection with 38 career games and 36 starts as a Ute. He was the 2021 Pac-12 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year, recording 33 tackles (5.5 TFL, 4.5 sacks) that season.
