 General
Utah is 3-0 for the second straight season and ninth time under head coach Kyle Whittingham; it includes 2008, '10, '14-17, '19, '23-24.
Whittingham, the winningest leader in program history, is 165-79 as head coach (since 2005). Including his time as an assistant coach (1994-2004), Whittingham has contributed to 250 wins and coached in 370 games, both the most of any coach in program history.
The Utes improved to 80-29-4 all-time vs. Utah State, with wins in 14 of the last 15 games. In Logan, the Utes are now 26-12.
Utah won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. The Utes defended the North goal to begin the game.
A USU touchdown late in the first quarter gave the Aggies a 7-3 lead; it marked the first time this season that the Utes have trailed in a game.
 Offense
Utah has had multiple touchdown drives in the first half of all three games this season.
As a team, Utah's 221 rushing yards were a season-high and the most since the Colorado game (268) on Nov. 25, 2023.
A total of 323 of Utah's 460 total yards of offense were accounted for by freshmen in the game.
The Utes have had either a 100-yard rusher or receiver in all three games this season.
True freshman Isaac Wilson became the fifth known true freshman in program history to start a game for the Utes, and first since Travis Wilson started the final seven games of the 2012 season. Of those five true freshmen, Wilson is the second to also grow up in Utah (SLC native Ken Vierra started two games as a true freshman in 1981).
Wilson had a final line of 20-for-33 for 239 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.
Wilson's three passing touchdowns tied Jordan Wynn (3 vs. Cal in 2009) for the most by a true freshman starting quarterback. Wilson is the first true freshman QB at Utah to have three passing scores in his first start.
Wilson had six completions of 15-plus yards, with those six totaling 143 passing yards. It included a career-long 33-yard strike for Wilson as well as a season-long reception for wide receiver Dorian Singer (25 yards).
Wilson became the second true freshman starting QB to win when his first career start was on the road; the other was Vierra who helped Utah to a victory at Northwestern on Sept. 26, 1981.
Tight end Brant Kuithe had three catches for 68 yards, now standing at 2,024 receiving yards for his career. It puts Kuithe sixth all-time in program history, passing Britain Covey (2015, '18-21) during the game today.
Kuithe has caught a pass in 35 straight games played, it is the longest active streak by an FBS tight end.
In his career, Kuithe now has 156 receptions, tying him for fourth in program history.
Running back Micah Bernard (123) recorded his second straight 100-yard rushing game and fourth of his career. Bernard is the first Ute to have back-to-back 100-yard rushing games since Ja'Quinden Jackson did it in 2023 (at Colorado, then vs. USC in the Pac-12 Championship).
Bernard's 64-yard rush during the fourth quarter was a career-long and the longest by a Ute since Sione Vaki had a 72-yard sprint against Cal on Oct. 14, 2023.
Fellow running back Mike Mitchell set career-highs in carries (14), rushing yards (75) and career-long rush (18).
Wide receiver Money Parks caught an 11-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. It was Parks' second straight game with a touchdown reception. It capped off a 79-yard scoring drive, the second-longest for Utah this season.
Parks has caught a pass in 27 straight games.
Wide receiver Dorian Singer set season-highs in receptions (5) and receiving yards (66).
Tight end Caleb Lohner recorded his second career receiving touchdown late in the second quarter on an 11-yard reception, Lohner's lone catch of the ballgame.
Fellow tight end Carsen Ryan made his first reception as a Ute during the third quarter. He added a two-yard touchdown reception during the fourth quarter, Ryan's first touchdown as a Ute.
On a two-point conversion in the third quarter, Wilson went to Kuithe on a shovel pass for the Utes' first successful conversion since Nov. 18, 2023.

Utah had multiple interceptions for the first time in a game since the Baylor game on Sept. 9, 2023.

Fellow defensive end Van Fillinger tied his career-high with eight tackles and set a new personal-best with two pass breakups.
Cornerback Smith Snowden made an interception for a touchback during the first quarter for Snowden's first career interception.
Snowden, safety Rabbit Evans and cornerback Elijah Davis all set career-highs in tackles during the first half.
Cornerback Cameron Calhoun made his first career interception, giving Utah possession with 2:57 remaining in the first half.
