LARAMIE, Wyo. – Utah Volleyball started its final weekend of non-conference action with a pair of matches from the UniWyo Invitational. The Utes opened the day with a 3-1 (25-12, 27-29, 25-14, 25-17) win over the Great Danes from UAlbany, before wrapping up the afternoon with a sweep of Coppin State, 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-21).

Utah has put together a five-match win streak, it's longest since 2021. In the first match of the day, the Utes put down 68 kills as a team, the most in a match since September 2022 when posting 72 against Milwaukee. In the second match of the day against Coppin State, Utah finished with its hitting percentage as a team (.458) since hitting .471 against Utah Valley in 2021.

Match One Recap
Utah set the tone early, jumping out to an 11-4 lead over the Great Danes, using a pair of early four-point runs. The Utes won the race to 15, putting together another four-point run and extending the advantage over UAlbany, 16-7. During the run, Utah saw kills land from
Rianne Vos,
Kamry Bailey and
Allie Olsen, while taking advantage of an Albany error. The two sides traded points, as the Utes climbed to a 25-12 win. Leading the Utah attack through the first set,
Kamryn Gibadlo and Vos recorded five kills apiece.

The Utes played their fourth extended set of volleyball of the season, falling to the Great Danes 27-29Â in the second. Utah struggled to find the momentum, as Albany maintained a slim advantage throughout the early going. The Utes put together a four-point run, taking their first lead of the set at 21-20. Utah was able to take advantage of the Albany service and attacking error, while getting a block from
Amelia Van Der Werff and Jardine. Utah was able to stay alive late in the set, getting back-to-back kills from
Isabelle Marco and Olsen.

Utah held Albany to less than 15Â points for the second time in the match, heading to the third set. Overcoming an early Great Dane lead, the Utes put together a seven-point run, taking an 11-5 lead. Igniting the Utah run, the Utes put together a string of four consecutive kills starting with kills from Olsen and Jardine, before
Emrie Satuala planted two kills in a row. Utah took a 10-point advantage at 17-7, after going on a five-point run. Vos put down back-to-back kills to get the run started before Bailey and Satuala tallied a pair of block assists. Â The Utes kept the pedal down cruising to the 25-14 win.

The Utes used the momentum rolling into the fourth set, jumping out to a quick 14-9 advantage. Utah used a seven-point run, taking the lead back from the Great Danes, Jardine put down three consecutive kills along the way. Maintaining a sizable advantage throughout the set, the Utes held an eight-point lead over Albany, 20-12. Coming down the stretch, Utah scored the final three points, ending on an ace by Marco to secure the 25-17 set win. Â

Match Two Recap
Returning to action in the late afternoon, the Utes showed no signs of slowing down against the Coppin State, quickly doubling the Eagles' score, 12-6. Utah maintained some separation throughout the set, taking advantage of the Coppin State errors. The Utes put together a four-point run late in the set, getting kills from Satuala and Bailey, taking a 21-14 lead. Utah continued to keep pressure on the Coppin State attack, taking advantage of the opposition's errors and leading to a 25-17 win.

For the second time in a day, Utah held its opponent to less than 15 points, taking the second set 25-12. The Utes quickly jumped out to an 11-3 lead, finding big kills from
Levani Key-Powell, Satuala and Vos. Utah continued to extend its lead over the Eagles, growing the advantage out to 13 points, taking the set, 25-12.

Utah battled to secure the three-set sweep, as Coppin State stayed within a point during the race to 15. The Utes started to find some separation, after taking a two-point lead at 16-14 and then moving on to take a four-point advantage, 20-16. Utah locked down the final two points of the set, sealing the victory, 25-21.
