POCATELLO, Idaho – The Utah track & field team had a great start to the 2025 calendar year, recording four event victories at the Snake River Open inside the ICCU Dome on Friday.

Megan Rose started where she left off back in December and claimed the event victory in the 60m dash. The Boise, Idaho, native posted a leading time of 7.51 (aa) in the prelims before running 7.53 (aa) in the finals for the win. Freshman
Matejah Mangum ran the second-fastest time in the prelims behind her teammate at 7.57 (aa) to advance but did not race in the finals.

Inspired,
Bailey Kealamakia laid claim to the 400m dash crown on Friday with a run 56.43 (aa) for a new personal record. Meanwhile,
Chloe Shewell picked up a top-10 finish after she crossed at 58.64 (aa).

Millie Wilcox captured the third event victory for the Women of Utah when she captured the 800m event with a run of 2:11.54 (aa) – which was just shy of her PR (2:11.04).
Annie Ivins picked up a top-3 mark after she posted a PR time of 2:14.49 (aa) while
Allie Bruce made her collegiate debut with a run of 2:17:50 (aa) – which was good for sixth-overall.

After a short rest, Mangum took runner-up honors in her first collegiate 200m race with a mark of 24.61 (aa). Fellow freshman
Chelsea Amoah was fourth-overall in her first collegiate 200m race as well after running 25.02 (aa). Rose was right behind her for fifth (25.04 aa) followed by Kealamakia in sixth (25.03 aa) to give Utah four of the top-6 finishers.

Utah's 4x400m relay team put a bow on the day after
Lela Divinity, Amoah, Ivins and Mangum teamed up to run 3:55.51 (aa) to garner Utah's fourth event victory on the day.

Over in long jump pit,
Shana Van Elderen took second after posting a leap of 5.60m (18-4.50) in her fifth attempt and registered a new PB.

Back on Thursday,
Rachel Bair was Utah's lone competitor in the pentathlon and finished fourth-overall with a score of 3269 – just six points shy of a new PR. The freshman had her best event in the 800m run, closing with a new PR time of 2:26.31 (aa) for third. She also recorded a new personal best in the 60m hurdles when she crossed the finish line at 9.37 (aa).

UP NEXT
The Women of Utah will get a couple weeks to rest and train before heading out for their next meet with the team split up into three different parts of the country. The sprints squad will compete at the Razorback Invitational (Jan. 31 – Feb. 1) while the distance heads up towards the PNW for the UW Invitational (Jan. 31 – Feb. 1) at Dempsey Indoor during that same time frame. Additionally, there will be a select group of Utes staying local to compete at the Speed and Power meet hosted by Utah State on Saturday, Feb. 1.
