SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's basketball team looks to split its season series against #RV/RV Baylor this Saturday, Jan. 25, when it hosts the Bears for the first time since Dec. 9, 1960, when the two battled it out inside Nielson Fieldhouse.
Dave Flemming will have the call on ESPN2 alongside former UCLA Bruin Sean Farnham inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center as Utah looks to get back on the win column to start the two-game homestand.
PROTECT THIS HOUSE
The Utes have protected their home court well the last three seasons, winning at least 10 games at home and have won 10-plus in 3-of-4 seasons under the direction of head coach
Craig Smith. The 2024-25 squad won 17 games in the Jon M. Huntsman Center last season – the most since the 2013-14 team went 18-2.
MEMORY OF A GOLD FISH
The Runnin' Utes look to learn and move on from its last game where it was bounced by #7/5 Houston, 70-36, on the road (Jan. 22). The 36 points scored by Utah is the second lowest total in a game from 1980 on and was just shy of the lowest mark since 1980 when it opened Pac-12 play at Colorado with a 73-33 loss.
