SALT LAKE CITY — With a 10-2 record and a No. 15 slot in the final College Football Playoff rankings, the Utah football team learned its bowl destination and opponent on Sunday as the Utes will face Nebraska in the 2025 SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl.
Â
Utah will take on the Cornhuskers on New Year's Eve at 1:30 p.m. MT inside Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with ESPN providing live broadcast coverage.
Â
The Utes have played in the Las Vegas Bowl six times and hold a 4-2 record at the event. Allegiant Stadium has been a familiar spot in recent years for Utah, which won back-to-back Pac-12 Conference championships there in 2021 and '22 and returned to the venue for the 2023 Las Vegas Bowl.
Â
It'll be the fifth Utah-Nebraska football meeting in history. The sides met in 1968, '80, '89 and '92, each inside Nebraska's Memorial Stadium.

 2025 Regular Season Recap
Utah finished the regular season with a 10-2 record and a 7-2 mark in Big 12 Conference play, as the Utes clinched their eighth 10-win season under head coach Kyle Whittingham. It is the 18th time in 21 years under Whittingham that Utah reached bowl eligibility.
Â
Of the 10 FBS teams with two losses, Utah is the only squad to have both losses come against teams ranked in the CFP top-11 (Texas Tech, BYU). In both of those games, the Utes were within one score during the fourth quarter.
Â
To date, Utah has engineered a five-win improvement from 2024—thanks to a reimagined offense, ever-physical defense and a variety of contributors on special teams. The Utes have eight victories by 25-plus points; it is the most by a Power Conference team this season.
Â
Altogether, 17 Utah Utes took home postseason Big 12 All-Conference laurels. Offensive tackle and Outland Trophy finalist Spencer Fano was named the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year and First Team All-Conference. Quarterback Devon Dampier earned Offensive Newcomer of the Year and Third Team All-Conference honors after throwing for 2,180 yards and 22 touchdowns and rushing for 687 yards and seven scores.
