IRVING, Texas – The University of Utah swim and dive program was awarded their seventh conference Diver of the Week honor after
Elias Petersen snagged two golds and broke the pool and program record on event in the dual meet against rival Brigham Young University, the conference announced Wednesday.

Elias Petersen earned his third Big 12 Men's Diver of the Week honor after dominating the one-meter and three-meter events against BYU. The Malmo, Sweden native began the weekend on one meter, where he scored 411.45, effectively breaking both the pool and program record. He averaged 68.6 points every round and finished more than 70 points ahead of second-place.
On three meter, Petersen continued to heighten the bar with a final score of 416.60. Averaging just under 70 points each dive, Petersen was nine points away from breaking a second pool record.
This marks Petersen's third weekly award, making him the first Ute in the Big 12 era to receive three conference awards. It also tallies the tenth Big 12 honor for Utah swim and dive this season.
