Utah’s nine-game conference slate includes five at home among six 2025 games at Rice-Eccles Stadium
SALT LAKE CITY — The full 2025 football schedule for the Utah Utes was announced today, as the Big 12 Conference revealed the conference slate for its second season as a 16-member conference. Utah's second year in the Big 12 includes six home games, including five conference games at Rice-Eccles Stadium among the nine-game Big 12 slate.
Â
Utah enters the 2025 season led by 21st-year head coach Kyle Whittingham, and featuring a roster that includes a strong mix of returning starters and incoming talent. Defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley leads a defense that ranked third in the Big 12 in 2024, including a No. 2 national ranking in first downs allowed and No. 3 in opponent third-down conversion percentage (27.4%), and offensive coordinator Jason Beck is in his first year with the Utes after leading a New Mexico offense that ranked fourth in FBS in yards per game (484.3).
Â
After a non-conference slate that includes road games at UCLA (Aug. 30) and Wyoming (Sept. 13) and one home game, Sept. 6 vs. Cal Poly, the Utes open Big 12 Conference play at home against Texas Tech on Sept. 20. Utah's Big 12 opener features a matchup that brings the Red Raiders to Salt Lake City for the first time, and features the first meeting between the two programs since 1973.
Â
The home conference opener is followed by a Sept. 27 road game at West Virginia for what will be Utah's first visit to Morgantown. The Utes and Mountaineers have met just twice previously, both times in bowl games and both Utah wins—the 1964 Liberty Bowl and 2017 Heart of Dallas Bowl.
Â
Following the first of two bye weekends, Utah plays host to defending Big 12 champion Arizona State at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Oct. 11. Utah and ASU clash for the fifth consecutive season, continuing a series in which Utah had won six of the previous eight meetings before ASU's 27-19 win in Tempe last October.
Â
Utah renews its rivalry with BYU on Oct. 18 in Provo, building on a series history that Utah leads 62-36-4, before returning home to host Colorado on Oct. 25. The Utes and Buffaloes will be meeting for the 15th consecutive season, in a series in which the Utes have won 13 of the last 16 matchups.
Â
A second consecutive home game features Cincinnati visiting Rice-Eccles Stadium on Nov. 1 for the first meeting all-time between the two programs.
Â
After the season's second bye week on Nov. 8, Utah resumes action at Baylor, traveling to Waco for the second time in the past three seasons and facing the Bears for the third year in a row. Utah won in Waco in 2023, and defeated Baylor at Rice-Eccles Stadium in 2024 in the only two matchups in the series history.
Â
The Utes welcome Kansas State to Rice-Eccles Stadium on Nov. 22 for their 2025 home finale, and the first meeting with the Wildcats in program history. The regular season comes to a close on the road, either Nov. 28 or 29, at Kansas. The Utes and Jayhawks will meet on the gridiron for just the fifth time, and the first since 1996.
Â
Select Saturday games in the 2025 Big 12 season may be moved to select Fridays, other special dates and Black Friday. Those games will be announced in the coming weeks.
Â
Season ticket renewals for Utah's highly-anticipated 2025 campaign will begin soon. Fans interested in learning about opportunities for purchasing new season tickets may sign-up now to receive information here.
