OCALA, Fla. – The University of Utah's swim team earned eight spots in finals, where
Erin Palmer collected her third gold medal of the meet, on day two of the CSCAA National Invite in Ocala, Fla. in the FAST Facility on Friday night.
"It was certainly a challenging morning for us," said head coach
Jonas Persson, "But, we made it back to finals and bounced back really well. I think the team is learning a lot about how to compete while being tired and racing against teams that we don't often compete against. Overall, I'm pleased and looking forward to tomorrow."
Top of the Lane
- Jones Lambert puts the Utes on the board first, for the second day in a row, earning a silver medal in the men's 400-yard IM with a time of 3:50.31.
- Lambert and Jakub Walter finished the 200-yard freestyle back-to-back. Taking fourth and fifth-place, Lambert finished at 1:37.23 and Walter at 1:37.39.
- On the women's side, Erin Palmer snagged her third gold medal of the meet, swimming 1:00.50 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

- Evan VanBrocklin dropped time in the 100-yard butterfly, moving from tenth to seventh with a time of 46.90.
- Sydney Even made an appearance in the women's 200-free B-final for the Utes, touching in at 1:51.79.
- In the 100-breast, Durgan McKean swam a 53.99 for a 12th-place finish.
- In the same race on the women's side, Rylee McColley finished her swim at 1:02.06 for 18th.

Utah swim wraps up its season with the final day of competition at the CSCAA National Invite on Saturday morning with prelims starting at 7:30 a.m. MT in Ocala, Fla. at the FAST Facility.
