Postgame Notes No. 20 Utah 31, (at) Wyoming 6 Laramie, Wyo. (War Memorial Stadium) Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025 Kick: 6:03 p.m. MT | End: 9:15 p.m. Attendance: 23,500
 General
Tonight's game was the first between Utah and Wyoming since 2010. Utah has now won five straight games against the Cowboys and is now 52-31-1 in the all-time series.
Tonight marked the first time since 1908 (and fourth time in available history) that Utah and Wyoming faced off as non-conference opponents. The programs were previously together in the Rocky Mountain Conference, Big Seven, Skyline Conference, WAC and Mountain West.
Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham, the winningest leader in program history, is now 170-86 at the helm of the Utes (since the 2004 Fiesta Bowl). Including Whittingham's time as an assistant coach (1994-2004), he has been part of 255 victories and 382 games—both the most of any coach in program history.
Utah won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. The Utes defended the North goal to begin the game.
 Offense
Dating back to last season, Utah has scored on six straight game-opening drives and seven of its last eight. Tonight was the first game-opening drive this season that the Utes did not score a touchdown.
This is the first time since 2004 Utah has scored on its opening drive in each of the first three games of the season.
Tonight marked the second straight game Utah surpassed 500 total yards of offense (518 vs. Cal Poly; 541 at Wyoming). The Utes had 492 total yards in the season opener at UCLA. The team's 311 rushing yards tonight was also a season-high and the first time since Nov. 4, 2023 that Utah rushed for 300-plus yards.
Utah has topped 200 rushing yards for the third straight game, the first time since 2019 they've surpassed 200 yards on the ground in three consecutive matchups.
Utah's 155 first-half rushing yards marked the second time in three games Utah has topped 150 yards on the ground in the opening half (164 at UCLA).
Quarterback Devon Dampier passed 27-for-41 for 230 yards (2 TD) with no interceptions and only one sack. He also kept the ball 13 times for 86 rushing yards.
Dampier had a streak of eight straight completions during the third quarter, as part of a touchdown drive that spanned 19 plays, 80 yards and 7:23 of game time.
Wide receiver Ryan Davis set a career-high with 10 receptions.
Running back NaQuari Rogers punched in his team-leading fourth rushing touchdown of the season. It came on a third-and-goal play from the Wyoming one-yard line and capped off a nine-play, 83-yard drive to begin the third quarter.
Rogers has scored a touchdown in each of Utah's three games this season.
Hunter Andrews rushed six times for 62 yards and tallied five catches for 44 yards, all of which were career highs. He also added his first collegiate touchdown.
 Defense
Defensive end John Henry Daley added a strip-sack late in the second quarter with the fumble recovered by linebacker Lander Barton. It goes as Daley's first career forced fumble and the third career recovery for Barton.
It marks the first time in Daley's career that he has made at least 1.0 sack in three straight games.
Daley's 6.5 TFLs in three games are the most by a Ute in a three-game span since Jonah Elliss had 10 in a three-game stretch in 2023.
Safety Jackson Bennee made his second interception in as many games, coming up with a 57-yard return and immediately putting Utah in the red zone. He has 103 interception return yards in the last two games.
Defensive tackle Jonah Lea'ea reset his career-high with four tackles.
 Special Teams
Dillon Curtis led Utah with seven points, making a 43-yard field goal and hitting all four of his extra-point attempts.
Rayshawn Glover tallied 66 total return yards, fielding two punts for 53 yards and one kickoff for 13 yards.

Â
Utah put together a 10-play, 60-yard drive on its next possession, led by a 23-yard rush from NaQuari Rogers, but a missed field goal kept the Utah lead at three.

Â
After the two teams traded punts, Wyoming took possession at its own 21-yard line with 4:41 to play. After moving the ball across midfield, Daley once again got to the quarterback, this time knocking the ball free for a fumble that was recovered by Lander Barton. Utah gave it right back, however, with a fumble of its own in the red zone.Â

Â
Utah controlled the ball for 11:31 in the third quarter alone.

Â
Wyoming was able to get its first points of the night on the board on the next possession, scoring a touchdown on 4th-and-1 from the 15, but Utah broke up the pass on the two-point conversion attempt.Â
Â
Up 24-6 with 4:31 left to play, Utah put together its fourth scoring drive of the second half. Wayshawn Parker and Hunter Andrews handled all six carries on the drive, and each rattled off a 20-yard run before Andrews scored from 11-yards out to increase the Utes' lead.Â
