LOS ANGELES – The Utah track & field team wrapped up its short time in the City of Angels on Saturday with seven top-10 finishes and three edits to the school record books at the Trojan Invitational inside Loker Track Stadium.
Utah's 4x100m relay team of
Haley Duvall,
Kinzlee Riddle,
Matejah Mangum and
Chelsea Amoah gave the Utes a solid start to the day by running the second-fastest mark in program history to take second at 44.30.
The distance crew of
Lindsey Peters (4:22.11),
Allie Bruce (4:36.17) and
Claire Le Gallo (4:38.29) claimed second, fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 1500m run with Peters and Bruce both posting new career best marks.
María Alvarado followed with a new PR as well in the 100m hurdles after she crossed the finish line with a time of 14.32 for eighth while
Glo Hussey ran a 14.75 for ninth-overall.
Ellie Heslam recorded a run of 57.39 in her first 400m dash event while fellow freshman
Kait Durham recorded a new personal best run of 58.92.
Sophomore
Chelsea Amoah continued where she left off last season and moved up to No. 2 on the all-time list at Utah after clocking a new PR of 11.52 in the 100m dash to take third-overall.
In the 200m dash, Duvall got off to a great start off the blocks and held onto her lead down the stretch to win her heat with a sprint of 24.38 – which inserted herself into ninth on the all-time list at Utah.
Earlier in the day in the long jump, Hussey finished seventh-overall with a wind-aided best mark of 6.03m (19-9.5) in her third attempt. Her fourth and final attempted yielded a leap of 5.95m (16-6.25) – the same as her first attempt – which was also a new PR.
