SALT LAKE CITY— The University of Utah women's tennis team will embark to the state of Texas this week to take on the TCU Horned Frogs and Baylor Bears in conference action.
The No. 30-ranked Utah Utes are currently 14-5 on the season and 7-2 in Big 12 action.

SCOUTING THE HORNED FROGS
The No. 20 ranked TCU Horned Frogs are coming off a 4-1 win against the No. 38 Baylor Bears this past weekend after clinching the doubles point advantage. TCU dropped their first match on court No. 2 but responded back on courts No. 1 and No. 3 to clinch the first point of the match.
In singles play, TCU would extend its lead 2-0 after Yu-Chin Tsai defeated Mu-Jie Tzeng  6-0, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot. The Bear would respond to cut the 2-0 lead in half. However, the
Horned Frogs powered on and picked up two wins on courts No. 5 and No. 6 to clinch the match victory.
The Horned Frogs have one Top 100-ranked singles player with No. 78 Raquel Caballero Chica. In doubles action, TCU see success in the pairing of senior Yu-Chin Tsai and graduate student Victoria Gomez O'Hayon who are currently 7-2 on the season and on a four-match win streak. Another duo on the rise for the Horned Frogs is Graduate Student Tomi Main and sophomore Cayetana Gay who are also 7-2 as a duo.
In singles action, Tsai currently leads the team with an undefeated record of 12-0.
The Cowgirls are coached by Lee Taylor Walker who is entering his 11
th season at TCU after coaching at Memphis for seven years.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
The No. 38 ranked Bears are coming off a 4-1 win over No. 39 ranked San Diego. The Bears clinched the doubles point advantage with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. In singles, BU clinched the match with victories on courts No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6.
The Bears are led by junior Zuzanna Kubacha who is 12-3 on the season in singles action and 7-3 with their doubles partner Gabrielle Villegas.
The Bears have one player in the Top-100 ITA rankings in senior Na Dong coming in at the No. 48 position. Dong is a 6'0 senior from China and has a 11-2 record this season. Dong's last singles loss was back on February 1, 2026 against SMU.
The Bears are coached by Joey Scrivano, who is in his 24th season with Baylor and records the eighth-most wins among active head coaches in Division I college women's tennis.
The Bears will face the BYU Cougars on Thursday, April 2 before dueling the Utes on Saturday, April 4.

LAST TIME OUT
The No. 33-ranked Utah Utes defended their home undefeated streak after downing the Kansas State Wildcats 4-1 Saturday afternoon.Â
In doubles action, the Kansas State Wildcats took a set 6-1 on the No. 3 court to start things off. However, Utah defended with a 6-3 win from duoÂ

Emmie Moore at the No. 2 spot and the Utes clinched the doubles point shortly after, whenÂ

Emma Valletta downed Wildcats' Maralgoo Chogsomjav and Martaa Chogsomjav 6-4.
In singles play, the Wildcats tied the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot. This tie didn't last long as Utah's Valletta downed K-State's Chanel Rustemova 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 5 spot to bring the overall score 2-1 in Utah's favor.
At the No. 3 spot, Utah's Moore kept Utah's momentum alive with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Kansas State's Diana Smolinska.
At the No. 1 spot, Utah's Kamper clinched the overall match for the Utes. Kamper won her first set in a tiebreak, 7-6(2) and posted a strong second set 6-1 against K-State's Martaa to clinch the match for the Utes.
The rest of the matches remained unfinished.
The Utes are currently on a six-match winning streak and are undefeated at home this season.
HEAD COACH RUTH ANN ALLEN
The Utah women's tennis team welcomedÂ
Ruth Ann Allen as head coach this past season. A Utah native and a Utah All-American and Hall of Famer, Allen returns to lead the program after a successful tenure as head coach at Weber State. She guided the Wildcats to a Big Sky Championship in 2023 and was twice named Big Sky Coach of the Year (2022, 2023).
Before Weber State, Allen spent 20 seasons as an assistant coach at Utah, where she helped the Utes secure multiple NCAA Tournament bids, two Mountain West Conference titles, and numerous top-five regional rankings. Allen, an All-American during her playing career at Utah, was inducted into the Utah Tennis Association Hall of Fame in 2023.
