Morgan Scalley's Utes wrap up spring workouts
SALT LAKE CITY — Head coach Morgan Scalley and the Utah football program are wrapping up final spring workouts as the team completes its 15 countable practices at the Spence & Cleone Eccles Football Center and Rice-Eccles Stadium. The Utes are set to close the spring with 22 For U Fan Day at the indoor facility on April 18 from 4:30-6 p.m.
OC Kevin McGiven on Devon Dampier…
"The command he's developed of the offense, especially over the last couple of practices has been really impressive to see. Early on his experience was evident, he has been exposed to a lot and has been in a starting role for a long time. This spring has been about applying the new concepts, making decisions pre-snap and post-snap, and handling all the moving parts that come with the system."

Scalley on the progress of the offensive line through spring…
"I would continue to say the offensive line has taken the most noticeable step forward through the spring. It's a brand new crew having to work together, having to communicate together with a new offensive line coach. There is still a lot of growth still to be had as we move into fall camp and the season, but I'm very pleased with their progress."

Scalley on the next few months heading into fall camp…
"I think everyone has a firm understanding of what needs to happen during the off time. A lot of it comes down to development in the weight room. If you want to move weight on the field, you have to move weight in the weight room and take care of your body - making sure you're ready when you come back. It's also about working together during the offseason, developing connections. There's still development that needs to happen in June and into July, but I'm excited for what's ahead."
