TUCSON, Ariz. – The Utah track & field team had a solid day on the oval, securing eight PRs with one school record while
Annastasia Peters was a Big 12 medalist in the 10,000m race.

Lindsey Peters and
Josie Fale got the evening started for Utah in the hot desert heat with time qualifying runs in the 1500m run. Peters ran the seventh-fastest time of the day with a time of 4:18.54 – which was good for third in her heat. Meanwhile, Fale placed fourth in the same heat with a PR run of 4:23.28 to move onto the finals.

Chelsea Amoah continues to have a standout sophomore season, breaking her own 200m school record Thursday night with a 22.69 run. Amoah had just broken the 200m school record two weeks ago on the same track at the Desert Heat Classic on May 2. In an earlier heat,
Matejah Mangum improved her foothold at No. 4 spot on the all-time list at Utah with a new PR time of 23.57.

María Alvarado, like her teammates, also posted a new PR in the 400m hurdles after she crossed the finish line in 1:00.91.

Peters wrapped up the warm day with a fifth-place finish in the 10,000m race with a time of 34:29.15. The Post Falls, Idaho, product was part of the lead pack the entire race before a trio of runners broke off in the final 800m.

HEPTATHLON
Glo Hussey got Utah going on the right track on Thursday with a new PR in the 100m hurdles with a run of 14.30 before following up with another PR – this time in the high jump. Hussey would get the new personal best on her last attempt of the series at 1.70m (5-7).

She would continue with two more PRs to close out the day in the pentathlon. The Kodiak, Alaska, product then tossed a personal best mark of 9.54m (31-3.75) in the shot put before recording her fourth PR of the day in the 200m with a run of 25.25. Hussey would close the day with 3154 points.
