SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah track & field team begins the championships season this weekend as they head down to Tucson, Ariz., to compete at the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Drachman Stadium on the campus of the University of Arizona.

The Women of Utah will 19 competitors to this year's Big 12 Outdoor Championships – 14 of which have never competed in. From that group of 14, three are freshmen, two transferred in midseason and nine red shirted last season. The five that competed last season at the championships for Utah were

LAST CHANCE
This weekend will serve as the last opportunity to run a regional qualifying mark ahead of the NCAA Regional Rounds (May 28 & 30). Each region (West/East) will take the top-48 marks from each individual event and the top-24 marks in relay events. Heading into conference championships week, here are the list of Utes that own a current qualifying time or on the cusp in the West.

UP NEXT
Once scratches have been finalized, those that earned a qualifying mark for the NCAA West Regionals will head to john McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Ark., on the campus of the University of Arkansas. The women's portion of the meet will take place on May 28 and May 30.
