FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sophomore
Chelsea Amoah and senior
Mackenzie Rogers make it the fifth-consecutive year that Utah track & field has sent multiple individual qualifiers to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships after the pair advanced from the quarterfinals in the 3000m steeplechase and 200m dash, respectively, at the 2026 NCAA First Round on Saturday at John McDonnell Field.
The 4x100m relay team got the day going for the Women of Utah, posting a run of 44.68 – which was good for fifth in their section and narrowly missed out on advancing to Hayward Field.
Rogers kept pace with the lead pack in the second section of the 3000m steeplechase the whole race and finished 10th-overall with a mark of 10:08.03 to advance to the NCAA Championships as a time qualifier. In the third section of the race, teammate
Sona Kourilova wrapped up her collegiate career with a run of 10:14.91 for 14th-overall.
Amoah became Utah's second individual qualifier for the championships after she earned a Big Q in the 200m dash with a run of 22.85 in the third and final section of the event.

Mackenzie Rogers will now get two weeks to prepare for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships (June 11 & 13) at Hayward Field. It'll be the first appearance for both Amoah and Rogers at the championships. Rogers is schedule to take the track first on Thursday, June 11, at 6:38 p.m. (MT) followed by Amoah at 8:29 p.m. (MT) on ESPN2.
