Award given annually to college football’s outstanding receiver at any position
Tallahassee, Fla. — Utah senior wide receiver Braden Pegan has been named to the Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced on Wednesday.
The Biletnikoff Award is given annually to college football's outstanding receiver. Pegan is one of 45 pass catchers to watch for 2026, as any player regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award.
Pegan is entering his first season with the Utes after a strong 2025 campaign at Utah State with offensive coordinator Kevin McGiven. He is the first Utah player named to the Biletnikoff preseason list since 2017 and first Ute to be named to the list during the season at any time since Dalton Kincaid was added midseason in 2022.
The San Juan Capistrano, Calif., native started 11 of 12 games he played in last season and led the team with 60 receptions for 926 yards. He earned First Team All-Mountain West honors, becoming just the third Aggie wide receiver to earn the distinction. His five touchdown receptions were the second most on the team, while recording three 100-yard receiving games. Pegan appeared in 13 games with one start art UCLA from 2022-24.
Semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award will be announced on Nov. 16 with three finalists selected on Nov. 24. The recipient of the 33rd Biletnikoff Award will be announced on Dec. 11 as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN.
The Biletnikoff Award's semifinalists, finalists, and award recipient are selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of 625 prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, Biletnikoff Award winners, and other former receivers.
