Joshua Hadley serves as the Director of Football Academics.
Josh joined the University of Utah in January 2024 as the Director of Football Academics after a highly successful stint at Texas A&M University.
During his tenure at Texas A&M, Josh oversaw Men’s Basketball Academics. The program experienced the most academic success in team history, earning over a 3.0 GPA during the 2021 academic year, a 1000 APR score, and the most student-athletes in program history making the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll & Dean’s List. Josh also was at the forefront of helping the Department transition into the new landscape of navigating the transfer portal. He was then promoted to an Assistant Director of Academics in the summer of 2022 and transitioned to serving Football Academics, focusing on the defensive side of the ball while also supporting Women’s Equestrian and Men’s Tennis. During his time with the Aggie Football program, the team earned its highest semester GPA in team history at the time during the spring 2023 semester. He also led the Enrichment Committee within the Center for Student-Athlete Services. He also established strong relationships on campus through leading the guest coaching program for Men’s Basketball, where he would engage faculty and staff to provide insight and access to behind-the-scenes of collegiate athletics while providing a first-class gameday experience. Before his time in College Station, Josh served as an Assistant Academic Coordinator for the Football program at the University of Kentucky.
Josh served as a member of the N4A NBA/NCAA Continuing Education Program, assisting the NBAPA in their efforts to help current and former NBA athletes finish their degrees. He also collaborated and led the SEC Men’s Basketball Academic calls from 2020-2022. Josh’s holistic and team-oriented approach has helped drive results at multiple institutions and afforded strong relationships on campuses with students, faculty, and colleagues across the country.
Josh enjoys any and every competitive environment and cheering on Utah Utes Football. A native of the Bay Area in Northern California, he is a die-hard Golden State Warriors and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Along with sports, he loves to work out, cook, go to the movies, and spend time with family. He is an avid reader and loves music. He is the self-proclaimed best playlist curator of all time. He was a football student-athlete at the University of Idaho and Missouri Southern. He was a starter, captain, team community service leader, and served on the SAAC committee. He completed his degree at Missouri Southern with a bachelor’s in public relations and then earned a master’s degree with the top-ranked sport management program at Texas A&M University.
