Four freshmen step into the Utes' lineup hoping to produce right away: Irini Kotoglou, Linn Ronnberg, Hillaree Hawkins and Brooke Wilkinson.
Utah's Fall Season: Utah competed in the BYU Invitational Sept. 17-19. Doubles were Utah's strength placing second in both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles divisions. Megan Payne and Molly Sanderson earned second place at No. 1 doubles, while the team of Linn Ronnberg and Irini Kotoglou equaled that mark at No. 2 doubles. In singles action, Ronnberg garnered third place in division two. At No. 3, Kotoglou captured a fourth-place finish. Payne and Sanderson placed fifth in their respective divisions, No. 1 and No. 5 singles, while Heidi Thomas battled to a sixth place finish at No. 4. Payne and Ronnberg won the doubles consolation bracket of the ITA Rolex Regional held at the Eccles Tennis Center Nov. 4-8.
Looking Ahead: The University of Utah Invitational will be the Utes' tune-up for a tough season. The regular season dual matches begin with No. 42 Northwestern and No. 1 Florida in Salt Lake City, Jan. 29 and 30 respectively.
