Utah Football Rolls Over Wyoming

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Adam Tate ran for 72 yards and two touchdowns as Utah beat Wyoming 34-0 in frigid conditions Saturday.
The Utes (4-6, 3-3 Mountain West) did most of their scoring in the first half. As the temperature plunged near zero, they sprang to a 27-0 lead.
Wyoming (1-9, 0-6) struggled offensively with two young quarterbacks filling in for Jay Stoner, who was out with a sprained ankle. It was the Cowboys' seventh straight loss.
Utah redshirt freshman Lance Rice gained his second victory as a starter after a win over UNLV last weekend. He completed 7 of 16 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.
In addition, the Utes outrushed the Cowboys 183-63.
Wyoming freshman Casey Bramlet was 15-of-33 for 186 yards, while sophomore Brandon Neill failed to complete a pass in three attempts.
The lone touchdown in the second half came on Andre Dyson's 30-yard interception return with 3:52 left.
Utah went up 27-0 after Golden Whetman kicked a low, 55-yard field goal with 19 seconds left in the second quarter.
The Cowboys did not get close to the end zone until late in the first half, when they advanced to Utah's 8. Neill was sacked for a 9-yard loss and Aaron Elling missed the field goal.
Utah went up 24-0 with 9:43 left in the first half when Josh Lyman ran in virtually untouched from 33 yards out.
Tate ended a 31-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown to put the Utes up 17-0.
A 25-yard field goal by Ryan Kaneshiro put Utah ahead 10-0 in the first quarter. The game's first touchdown, a 3-yard run by Tate, capped an 84-yard drive.
Derek Armah led the Cowboys with 87 yards on the ground.
