THIS WEEK: The Utes have a bye this week, but will compete in the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis Minn., on Sept. 23, at 9:00 a.m.
LAST WEEK: Utah finished third in the men's and women's competitions at the Colorado State Ram Invitational on Sept. 9. The men were led by Teren Jameson, who took the individual title in 25:21. Rounding out the top five for Utah were Aleksander Tomas in 13th place (26:07), Adam Stark in 18th place (26:26), Colby Frazier in 24th place (26:35), and B.J. Christenson in 25th place (26:37).

QUOTING COACH MIKE JONES: On the men's team-- "This was a good race for us. We finished third behind Western State (1999 Division II National Champions) and Colorado State, and we decreased our split time from 60 seconds to 30 seconds. We're going to work on increasing our pace time over the bye week."
On the women's team-- "I was so excited to see our women finish third. They ran well as a group and increased their pace time. Our freshmen are getting better and better as the season goes on."
CROSS COUNTRY NOTE: The NCAA has decided to increase the national women's cross country championship from a 5K to a 6K. The Colorado State Ram Invitational was the first 6K the Ute women have competed in.
COMING UP: The Utes are off to the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., on Sept. 23.
