This Week: The University of Utah women's tennis team opens up the 2001 season with its first match in a three-match homestand. Utah plays host to No. 15 Northwestern Sun., Jan. 21 at 10 a.m.
About the Utes: Utah returns six players off last year's squad. However, only three of them were healthy throughout the endurance of the season. Sophomore Cassie Kasteler, junior Linn Ronnberg, or junior Irini Kotoglou will play No. 1 singles for Utah.
About the Wildcats: Northwestern will have two matches under its belt, when the Wildcats reach Salt Lake City. They play DePaul Jan. 17 and BYU Jan. 20. They will be led by senior Colleen Cheng, who went 33-12 last season, 22-7 in duals.
Looking Ahead: Colorado State and Purdue travel to the Eccles Tennis Center for matches on Sat., Jan. 27 at noon, and Sun., Jan. 28 at 10 a.m., respectively. They will be led by senior Colleen Chang, who went 33-12 last year.
