Manhattan, Kan. - The University of Utah women's tennis team (1-4) lost its third consecutive match, losing 7-0 to No. 43 Kansas State.
Freshman Sheri Esrock, competing in her first collegiate match, won the only set on the afternoon for the Utes. After opening at No. 4 singles with a 6-0 advantage in the first set over Paulina Castillejos, Esrock relinquished the next two sets, 6-1, 6-4.
Kansas State swept doubles to earn the point, while straight-setting the rest of singles play. Linn Ronnberg and Heidi Thomas forced first-set tiebraekers at No. 3 and 6, but couldn't quite close out the sets.
