This Week: The 2-0 University of Utah women's tennis team will continue their home stand against Boise State on Sunday, Feb. 2. Utah will host the Broncos at the Eccles Tennis Center where they are undefeated this year. Competition for the match kicks off at 11:00 a.m.
Utes To Watch: Sophomore Allison Hansen had a great weekend at the No. 5 spot finishing 2-0 against Montana State and Saint Mary's College. "Allison got into her game quickly and executed from the beginning of the match until the end," states head coach Megan Dorny. "Her performance all weekend, in singles and doubles, was solid."
Last Action: The University of Utah hosted the Montana State Bobcats for their 2003 season opener on Friday, Jan. 24 at the Eccles Tennis Center. The Utes shut out the Bobcats with a 7-0 victory.
"We couldn't have asked for a better match to open our season," states junior Sheri Esrock. "With a victory and everyone wining in straight sets, it looks like we're going to have an unbelievable year."
The University of Utah women's tennis team continued their home stand against Saint Mary's on Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Eccles Tennis Center. Utah earned a 5-2 victory over the Gaels to improve to 2-0 in regular season play and remain undefeated at home.
Quoting Head Coach Megan Dorny: "The match on Sunday was a good test of our skills. We had some great matches and know where we need to improve in the future," states Dorny. "Being able to compete is such a great way for us, as coaches and players, to evaluate our team progress and make changes to help us improve in the future."
Coming Up: The Utes will go on a two game road trip beginning at Kansas State on Saturday, Feb. 15, and end a Kansas on Sunday, Feb. 16.
