Utes Drop Game Two Of Fiesta Bowl Tournament

Phoenix, Ariz.--The Utes fell to 1-1 on the season after dropping game two of the Fiesta Bowl Tournament to Iowa State, 5-6 on Friday night. Utah repeated its performance from earlier in the day by scoring three runs in the second inning to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Iowa State answered with two of its own in the bottom of the third to make it a one run game. Utah added another run in the fifth to make it 4-2, but would give up two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings. Utah scored one in the top of the eighth to take the lead, 5-4. The lead didn't last as the Cyclones scored two in the eighth, one off a Utah error to get the victory.
Heather Bowlin started the game for Utah. Bowlin threw 7.0 innings. Jen Pursell, who threw the last inning, picks up the loss for Utah to drop to 1-1 on the season.
