Phoenix, Ariz.--Utah lost to No. 24 Texas A&M, 11-4, on Saturday at the Fiesta Bowl Tournament. Utah struck first in the game with four runs in the second inning. The lead would be short as A&M knocked in five in the third, four in the fourth and two more in the seventh to go on to the victory.
The Utes committed three errors that led to three unearned runs in the game. Jen Pursell drops to 1-2 on the year after getting the loss. Freshman Brianna Gourdin saw her first time on the mound for Utah. Gourdin threw 3.2 innings, allowing two runs off one hit while striking out two.
