SACRAMENTO, Calif.--The Utes fell to No. 3 Washingon, 10-5, on Saturday night at the Capital Classic. Utah wraps up the tourney against Eastern Kentucky on Sunday.
Both teams were seeing the ball, as each ripped 12 hits in the game. The difference was the Utes left seven runners stranded, while the Huskies stranded only two. Melissa Stahnke and Ivette Hernandez were the offensive production for Utah. Stahnke ripped a two-run shot, while Hernandez connected for a three-run blast.
Heather Bowlin gets the loss for Utah. Bowlin threw 5.1 innings before being relieved by Brianna Gourdin.
