SALT LAKE CITY--Utah junior infielder Glennis Donnelly has been named Mountain West Conference Player of the Week. This is the first weekly honor for Donnelly.
Donnelly, a St. Louis, Mo., product, went 10-for-15 (.667) at the plate in five games for the Utes last week. She hit four home runs, a double, knocked in seven runs and scored eight herself, while hitting safely in all five games. In Utah's first game against conference foe Colorado State, she belted a homer, drove in a run and scored two of her own. She followed with a 3-for-4 performance from the plate in game two against the Rams, smashing her second homer of the series and adding a two-run double.
Donnelly wrapped up the week going 5-for-6 from the plate against New Mexico. She hit two more homers against the Lobos, driving in three runs and scoring another three, helping the Utes to a series split.
Donnelly is batting .292 on the year, with five home runs and 26 RBI. During conference play, the junior is hitting .408 with a .755 slugging percentage.
