SALT LAKE CITY--The University of Utah softball team hosts the second Utah Fall Classic, Sept. 19-21, at Ute Field. The weekend will feature Utah, Nebraska, Washington and Utah State. All games are free to the public.
Scouting Washington
Washington finished last season ranked No. 6 in the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association Top 25 Poll. The Huskies concluded the year with a 47-16-1 overall record. They return nine starters from the 2003 squad that advanced to the program's sixth Women's College World Series last May.
Scouting Nebraska
Nebraska was ranked No. 13 in the final 2003 NFCA poll. The Huskers wrapped up last season with a 39-17 overall record. They lead the series against Utah 8-5.
Scouting Utah State
The Aggies recorded an 8-40 overall record last season. Last weekend at the Utah Fall Classic they went 0-3 with losses to Southern Utah, Brigham Young and Utah.
