Utah Gymnastics Team Holds Steady At No. 4

SALT LAKE CITY -
The University of Utah gymnastics team has checked in at No. 4 for the third straight week in the national rankings. The Utes trail Alabama, Georgia and UCLA in the new rankings, which are based on season average for the final time of the year. Next week, the rankings will move to regional qualifying score.
Utah's best event ranking is on vault, where after spending the first five weeks at No. 1, it slipped to No. 2. The Utes are ranked No. 4 on floor, No. 7 on beam and No. 9 on bars.
Ute junior Annabeth Eberle, who will miss this Friday's meet at No. 24 Arizona State with an ankle injury, is ranked No. 4 in the all-around (39.625 average) and No. 3 on the vault (9.958) for a second straight week. The 2003 All-American is also ranked No. 9 on the beam (9.895) and No. 10 on the floor exercise (9.915, tie). Veronique Leclerc is No. 16 on the bars (9.869) and Nicolle Ford is No. 17 on the vault (9.892).
