THIS WEEK: The University of Utah women's tennis team hosts the Utah State Aggies on Friday, Feb 20 at 5:00 p.m. and the University of Nevada Wolf Pack on Sunday, Feb. 22 at noon in the Eccles Tennis Center. Utah State and Nevada face off at the Eccles Tennis on Saturday, Feb. 21 at noon.
REVIEWING LAST WEEK: Utah defeated No. 75 Kansas on Saturday, Feb. 14 and fell to No. 56 Denver on Sunday, Feb. 15. The Utes held on to a 4-3 win over the Jayhawks and suffered a 7-0 loss to the Pioneers.
The team played without junior Allison Hansen and freshman Ashley Young, who are both out due to injury.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS: The Aggies are 1-3 in the season, with only one win over opponent Idaho State. Utah State defeated Idaho 5-2 at home, but fell to BYU, Gonzaga, and Weber State this season.
University of Nevada has an overall 1-4 record. The Wolf Pack has suffered four 7-0 losses this season to New Mexico, UNLV, Sac State, and Oregon. Nevada conquered Weber State 4-3 to pick up its only win of the season.
QUOTING HEAD COACH Megan Dorny: "The weekend of the 20-22 we will be playing Utah St. and Nevada. We haven't played Utah St. since the year before last. It should be a good match with Utah St. having so many good local players and Utah having a number of good Utah players as well. Nevada is a team we haven't played before, but one that we have scheduled for 2005 as well as this season. We are looking forward to both matches."
