Salt Lake City -
THIS WEEK: The University of Utah women's tennis team heads into conference play when it hosts Wyoming on Friday, Mar. 25 at 1:00p.m. and Colorado St. on Saturday, Mar. 26 at 10:00 a.m. Weather permitting, matches will be played at the Salt Lake Swim and Tennis Club. Otherwise, competition will take place at the Eccles Tennis Center and Friday's match will take place at 3:00 p.m.
REVIEWING LAST WEEK: Utah traveled to Florida for spring break competition last week. The Utes suffered a close loss to the University of Jacksonville (4-3) but defeated Stetson University (4-2). No doubles matches were played against Steton because of the threat of rain.
Rain continued throughout the week, preventing Utah and Miami of Ohio from playing their scheduled match.
The Utes have compiled a 9-7 record this season.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: The University of Wyoming has not faced off against any conference opponents yet this season. The Cowboys have an 8-5 non-league record.
Colorado St. also begins conference play this weekend. The Rams are 7-2 on the season and recorded their fifth straight shutout when they defeated Idaho State last week.
QUOTING HEAD COACH Megan Dorny: "We are looking forward to playing Wyoming and Colorado St. at home this weekend. Weather permitting, the match will be at Salt Lake Swim and Tennis Club. Emily Kwok has been playing outstanding singles and doubles the past few weeks and has really worked her way up in the singles line-up. As a coaching staff, we are proud of the effort and ability of our young team and hope to see them come together well as a team on Friday and Saturday."
