This Week
The University of Utah women's tennis team will compete Thursday through Saturday at home in dual matches competing against Washington State, Montana State- Bozeman, and the University of Montana. All matches will take place at Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City.
The Opposition
The Washington State Cougars currently hold a No. 66 national ranking by the ITA. They are fresh off of a double-header against Gonzaga and Eastern Washington on Jan. 20. The Cougars swept both teams to tally two 7-0 wins. Playing for Washington State is No. 85 Ekaterina Burduli, a junior. The Cougars will face the Utes on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. MT
Montana State- Bozeman do not currently hold a national team ranking. The Bobcats played their season opener against No. 42 Portland on Jan. 20 where they lost 0-7. Montana State will compete against Utah on Friday at 5:00 p.m. MT.
The University of Montana Grizzlies will be playing their season opener this week on Friday against Utah State before facing the Utes on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. MT.
Ute Notes
The University of Utah women's tennis team will play their first dual match of the season this week against the Washington State Cougars. The Utes do not currently hold a national ranking from the ITA. Elizabeth Ferris and Leigh Walsh are regionally ranked No. 14 in doubles, and Ferris holds a No. 8 regional singles ranking and a No. 67 national ranking as of Jan. 9 by the ITA.
The Utes last played in the Utah Invitational on Jan. 12-14. Utah won every main-draw event. Ferris took the Flight A singles bracket 6-0, 7-5 over Emily Kwok from Utah, and Cinthia Saucedo won the Flight B singles bracket 6-2, 6-3 over Jessica Carter. In doubles play, Kwok and Cheyenne Reveche defeated Lauren and Erin Monson of Utah State 8-3 in the finals.

The Utes will host Boise State on February 2 at 5:00 p.m.
